The noble initiative of Community Rebuild’87 headed by Mr. Carl Ditchburn and team  of sending the used school materials from a school closed down in UK, to be donated to government run primary schools in the project area of READ Centre, Bangalore.

READ Centre has donated the school materials and books to an orphanage and Jamboo Savari Dinne School, Bangalore and has set up a children’s library in READ Centre office premises to help the local children to access the books and enjoy reading and learning.

Friends from Community Campus’87, The Brunswick Street, STOCKTON-ON-TEES TS18 IUU, UK are in Karnataka to construct a rural youth community hall at Tamadihalli village Huliyar at Tumkur District, Karnataka. Three men and two women headed by Carl Ditchburn are taking up the construction of the community hall under Community Building Venture (CBV) project. They will be spending ten days in the project area where the rural youth will assist them in the construction. The rural youth have contributed more than Rs. Thirty thousand and procured the building materials such as mud, sand, water as well as they will provide manual labor in the whole project.

After the construction Carl and team will visit READ Centre’s administrative office in Bangalore and have planned to visit Jamboo Savari Dinne Primary Government School as a part of their continuing activities where CC’87 and Rebuild’87 have donated 200 chairs and 25 tables, book shelves and other educational materials.
